Wealth management index report spring 09
The Wealth Management Index talks to over 20,000 Canadian Investors every year, making it the most accurate and intimate read available. The Index provides quarterly reporting with a sample of over 5,000 Canadian investors which provides insightful and timely reads to both external forces and internal strategic executions. This quarterly Index report includes the results of an online survey of 5,000 Canadian investors—who are Angus Reid Forum panellists—conducted from Apr. 20 to May 1, 2009.
Highlights:
* When asked about the state of the Canadian Economy, larger size business owners are more reserved in their outlook, with only 15% of those with $250K to $1M in annual sales revenue feeling that the economy will improve in the next three months. When we look at economic outlook by industry, we observe slightly more pessimism among Agriculture and Wholesale and Retail Trade businesses.
* While there is a feeling of moderate optimism among most small business owners, those in the fields of Agriculture and Wholesale & Retail Trade are slightly more pessimistic about their company’s performance over the next six months.
* Green shoots and early signs of economic recovery are reflected in the positive outlook of small business owners as they review the anticipated change in their business in the next six months. Compared to the tough times of the last six months, they foresee an increase in sales revenue, profit margins and general investment.
* Small business owners are more likely to have had a bad experience with a financial advisor and they are also more likely to think that there are many hidden fees when you use a financial planner. While they are more likely to feel that they can reach their goals for their children’s education, they are not necessarily as confident about reaching their retirement goals.
