Are we safe in our city, Bought a triplex in 1996 here in Belleville,On. Had a bad tenant it cost me a total of 9 thousand dollars in legal fees and damages to evict him by the name of Roy Hobbs, been Harassed, stalked an utter death threats by him an his sons and property damage for the last seven years or so guess the town of Belleville,On be better off with criminals then law abiding citizen who I work hard all week and weekends are either fishing,hunting,camping or ride my Harley when I can enjoy it. I’m also trying to fix my place to make it look good but with these action done to my property it take a lot of my money and time. Since I’m not getting any protection for me and my family I have taken time off work to stay home to protect my family and property, will try to fix my triplex and sell to a criminal since they have more power then a law abiding citizen and leave this city were it can be safe for me and my family here is my last incident there not being charge for Harassed an utter death threats. I fear for my family safety

Belleville, Ontario – On 21 June, 2011 at 1:44 a.m. police were called by a resident of Herchimer Avenue for assistance in dealing with a group of males outside the residence that were damaging a truck parked in the driveway. Investigation of this complaint led to the arrest of 4 males.
Luke Bourgeau (28 years) of Belleville has been charged with one count of Mischief under $5000.00 and one count of Prowl by Night. Bourgeau will appear in Provincial court on 18 August, 2011. Patrick Joseph Monahan (25 years) of Belleville has been charged with one count of Mischief under $5000.00 and one count of Prowl by Night. Monahan will appear in Provincial court on 18 August, 2011. Randolf Perchacz (27 years) of Belleville has been charged with one count of Mischief under $5000.00 and one count of Prowl by Night. Perchacz will appear in Provincial court on 18 August, 2011. Adam Hobbs (25 years) of Belleville has been charged with one count of Mischief under $5000.00, one count of Prowl by Night and one count of Breach of Probation. Hobbs will appear in Provincial court on 18 August, 2011.

This is Indira and a friend of mine referred this blog to me. This is a great blog with huge amount of information for to-be Canadians like me. we are into the last stage of our immigration process now. We expect to land before the end of this year. I appreciate your efforts for collating all relevant information. I never thought i can have ALL information i would need on the SIN Card, in a single article. I did my research on the SIN card sometime back and believe me, i had to look for this info into so many places and not all of them have exhaustive info like this one does.

All politicians need to remember that many immigrants cannot vote. You can only vote if you are a Canadian citizen, which as a permanent resident you cannot apply for until you have been in the country for three years and then takes about 18 months to process. So for the first four – five years most newcomers have no say in the voting system, even though they still have to pay taxes etc. Perhaps new rules need to be looked at to address this as many newcomers would love to have a vote, but are simply unable to do so, through no fault of their own.

Well Done Mr Kenny – please do not allow those ‘politically or culturally’ motivated to dictate our great countries immigration policies and practices. Being an immigrant and professional who is involved in securing qualified and skilled people for gainful employment. The one thing I ask is that the ability to communicate in either official languages is ‘Mandatory’ for ALL Immigrants, not just the Federal Skilled Work Program. My first language is English (British) and am often engaged by companies to screen people on their ability to communicate ‘satisfactorily! I applaud anyone who stands up and represents ALL ‘immigrants’, not just one class or group. On a side note, the immigration process must be equal and the same no matter which country they come from, time disadvantages (some say discrimination) must be removed from the process.

We have been to Niagara at many different times of the year and I don’t think there is a bad time to visit. Just remember to wrap up warm in the winter as it gets really cold, especially at night if you want to wait and see the illuminations. We froze one year! Love the Butterfly Conservatory.

What’s solid about this? Sales are off by 15% over last year, “seasonally adjusted” is used to gloss over any inconvenient discrepancies, and ‘balanced territory’ is used to describe the fact that the number of homes on the market shrank dramatically in the past 12 months in every major market.

With interest rates due to rise this year you’re going to see a flood of homes hit the market in the spring, which will drive down prices, which will then flatline as the Feds reel in 5/35 mortages in an effort to curb Canadian’s catastrophic debt levels.

CREA is a propaganda agency. You can’t blame ‘em, that’s their job. But asking Realtors (or Realtor’s pimps) about the housing market is like asking a turkey how life is going on the day before Thanksgiving.

Huge congratulations to Yvonne for having the strength of character to take on The Canadian government. Sadly deafness is a huge problem on Parliament Hill. Apparently, so is literacy – they do not appear able to either read our letters nor to answer them. MSers here in Ottawa and those who could get here from other centers, marched on Parliament Hill last fall. Hopefully we will be able to do it again with more MSers from more places this spring. Perhaps we will be fortunate enough to have Yvonne among us at that time.
Parliament Hill is going to be our Ortona, our Passchendaele. Our victory!

When we bought our house it had an above ground pool, but within months we had removed it, put it at the side of the road with a sign “free to good home” and a couple of hours later it was gone. Never regretted the decision. I would however consider getting a hot tub as I feel we would get more use out of it.

This could be very close to my story. I was in my 40′s when first symptoms appeared. I had all the symptoms listed in this story and many others as well. My disability was more severe and my recovery has been somewhat better. I no longer use my scooter or power chair for anything. I also had stents. There are more of us with the more desirable improvements than you are likely to read about because of the controversy surrounding CCSVI and the procedure to address the condition. It encourages others when these come forward for all to see.

That was a nice story, very well written. Thanks for that. I was disappointed by the ending though, as I had expected them to love Ottawa (I mean compared to London… no offense)…. But it sounds like they are a very compatible and flexible couple -which is the real lesson learned here, and that they will be able to make it wherever they end up settling.

I agree about the description of Calgary’s winters -brutal.

The Crowe River in the Spring, when the run-off from Spring snow melt makes the water level rather high, attracts kayakers to do some white water runs over the rapids. The bridge at the Crowe River Conservation Area, north of Campbellford is a popular spot to park and take your kayak out for a run!
